Common applications

  • Coffee and tea
  • Snacks, nuts and trail mix
  • Jerky and meat sticks
  • Spices, dry mixes and baking mixes
  • Pet treats
  • Mylar bags for food storage and freeze-dried food

Buyer questions

  • What product goes in and how much does each pouch hold?
  • Do you need a zipper, a tear notch or a hang hole?
  • Clear window, full print or a metallized mylar look?
  • Does the product need protection from oxygen, moisture or light?
  • How many designs do you have and how many pouches per design?

Material options

Stand up pouches are laminated films. An outer film carries the print and an inner polyethylene layer makes the seal. Mylar bags add a metallized or foil layer that blocks light and oxygen.

Custom printing

Pouches can be printed edge to edge with your brand, nutrition panel and barcode. Tell us how many designs you have because that shapes which print method fits.

Sizing and specifications

Pouch size is width by height plus the bottom gusset. Tell us the fill weight or send a sample of the product and we will match a pouch size to it.

Quote readiness

Send the product, fill weight, features and barrier needs. Add the number of designs and the quantity per design.

Serv-Pak gets custom stand up pouches made for food brands that want a package that sells itself on a shelf. Zipper pouches, window pouches and printed mylar bags all come through one quote. Tell us what you pack and how long it has to stay fresh. We source the pouch through our converter partners, with film from Prime Film next door when it is film they run.

Custom Printed Pouches for Coffee, Snacks and Jerky

A printed pouch is the whole label. Your logo, the flavor, the nutrition panel and the barcode all print right on the film, so there is nothing to stick on by hand.

Brands with several flavors usually ask about minimums first. Minimums depend on the print method and how many designs share a run. Tell us your real quantity per design and we will quote the option that fits it, not the one that fits a bigger brand.

Mylar Bags for Food Storage and Freeze-Dried Food

A mylar bag is a pouch with a metallized or foil layer. That layer keeps light and oxygen away from the food, which is why freeze-dried meals and long-term food storage are packed in them. Many buyers pack with oxygen absorbers inside.

Custom mylar bags can carry your logo and a clear window. Tell us the product, the fill and how long it needs to keep.

How to Choose a Custom Pouch

  • Barrier. Dry snacks sold fast need less barrier than coffee or freeze-dried food. Over-building the barrier costs money and under-building it costs product.
  • Look. Clear, metallized or a matte finish. A window lets the product do some of the selling.
  • Features. Zipper, tear notch, hang hole or a degassing valve for fresh coffee.
  • Size. Fill weight alone is not enough. Chips and coffee of the same weight need very different pouches.
  • Food contact. Every food pouch touches food. Say so and the inner layer is chosen for food contact.

Product questions

What is a stand up pouch?

A stand up pouch is a flexible bag with a bottom gusset that lets it stand on a shelf. Most have a zipper so customers can reseal them.

What is the difference between a mylar bag and a stand up pouch?

A mylar bag has a metallized or foil layer that blocks light and oxygen. Many stand up pouches are mylar bags and many are clear instead. The barrier your product needs decides which one fits.

Can I get custom stand up pouches with a window?

Yes. Tell us the window shape and where it should sit on the pouch. A window works well for jerky, granola and coffee beans.

What are the minimums for custom printed pouches?

Minimums depend on the print method and the number of designs. Send your real quantity per design and we will quote the option that fits it.

Are custom pouches food safe?

Food-contact materials are available for pouches. Tell us what the pouch holds so the inner layer is chosen for food contact from the start.
