GUIDE
Small Orders of Custom Printed Bags: What Will It Cost?
Compare the full cost of a short printed run with a stock bag and label. Serv-Pak can review your quantity and design before you buy more bags than you need.
A short run can put your logo in customers' hands without tying up cash in bags you will not use. The right choice depends on the full first-order cost, how soon you need the bags and whether you expect to reorder the same design.
Ask Serv-Pak to compare your printed-bag options. Give us your planned quantity even if it is still an estimate.
Printed Bags or Stock Bags With a Label?
| Option to compare | When it fits | Cost to check |
|---|---|---|
| Stock bag with a separate label | A first launch, changing flavors or an event with a firm date | Bag, label and the work of applying it |
| Custom printed poly bag | A repeat product with a settled size and logo | Printing setup, bag production and delivery |
| Printed clear cello bag | Treats and gifts where the product should stay visible | Film choice, ink coverage and bag style |
| Printed bread bag | A bakery ready to keep its name on every loaf | Order quantity for each design and fit on the packing line |
Compare a stock size before paying for a custom size. A close stock size may fit once you allow for the product's depth and the space used by the closure. A physical fill test settles that question better than a photo.
Compare the Whole First Order
The lowest price per bag can still leave you with the larger bill. A bigger order uses more cash today and needs storage until those bags sell.
For each option, compare:
- The cost of the bags at your requested quantity.
- Artwork preparation and any printing plates or other setup charges.
- A sample or print proof and whether it adds a charge.
- Shipping and any applicable tax.
- For labeled bags, the labels and the time spent applying them.
Then compare the reorder. Ask which setup charges repeat, who holds the printing plates and what happens if your artwork changes. A first-run quote and an unchanged reorder quote answer different budget questions.
Does the Minimum Apply to Each Design?
A minimum order quantity is the lowest number the supplier will produce for the agreed bag and print job. Some quotes also have a minimum order value, which is a dollar amount.
If you sell several flavors, tell us the quantity for each printed design. Changing a logo color, ingredients panel or bag size can change how the job is priced. Designs can sometimes share a run, but that needs confirmation for the proposed supplier and printing method.
Serv-Pak reviews minimums for the actual job. There is no single published minimum that covers every bag style and print process.
Settle the Print and Delivery Date Before Ordering
A simple logo can keep more of the clear bag visible. On transparent film, ask how the chosen ink will look against the packed product. If you want solid white, include that in the request so availability and appearance can be reviewed.
Ask when production starts, when the order is expected to ship and when it should arrive. Artwork approval may start the production clock. A ship date alone does not answer whether the bags will reach you before an event.
Give Serv-Pak a Quantity to Work With
Send the product, bag size and quantity you need now. Add your logo, delivery location and in-hand date. If you already have a bag that works, a sample or its written specifications can save a round of guessing.
A heavier printed poly bag also needs the requested film thickness and packed weight. A clear treat bag needs room for its contents and closure. Our branded treat-bag guide walks through that fit.
Request a small-order packaging quote and tell us whether you would also consider a stock bag with a label. We can review both against your budget and deadline.
